Hammocks Across America
An annual initiative of the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation
Sunday, August 30, 2026
One day. One simple invitation.
Hang a hammock.
Take a breath.
Enjoy yourself.
Inspired by the philosophy of Kenneth M. Grebe, Hammocks Across America invites people everywhere to step away from the rush of everyday life and spend a little time simply being.
Whether you're in a backyard, a park, the woods, on a porch, or beside the water, you're invited to take part.
How to Participate
Participation is intentionally simple.
• Hang a hammock wherever you are.
• Spend a few minutes—or an afternoon—resting.
• If you'd like, share a photo or quiet moment from your hammock and tag the Foundation.

Why We Do This
Ken often reminded us:
"Today is the day… enjoy yourself. If not now, when?"
This event is a gentle reminder that rest isn't something we have to earn.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is pause.
Share Your Moment
Throughout the day, we'll be sharing participant photos and stories across our social media channels.
Wherever you are, we'd love to have you be part of this growing tradition.

Looking Ahead
Hammocks Across America is envisioned as an annual event of the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation—a growing invitation for people everywhere to practice rest, self-kindness, and connection.
