The Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation announces the launch of its inaugural Creative Practice Grants—a new annual initiative supporting artists, creative collectives, and community arts organizations through unrestricted funding. Built on a simple belief that artists deserve trust, this program marks the beginning of a new Foundation tradition.

An ongoing window exhibition at The Upstairs Studio honors the lasting legacy of Happy Hour Sketch Club and the creative community fostered by Matthew Dougherty and Kenneth M. Grebe.

This gathering invited artists into honest conversation about pricing, grants, contracts, sustainability, uncertainty, and the realities of building a creative life.

On May 17, 2026, we honored Ken’s dream: Hammocks Across America — a simple invitation to rest, pause, and enjoy.

On May 13, 2026, Happy Hour Sketch Club, friends, family, artists, and musicians gathered on Ken’s birthday to celebrate his life and continue his legacy.

On May 12, 2026, the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation hosted the first gathering in our Art to Art: Creative Well series.

Together, we are building something that reflects Ken’s spirit…

An unexpected opportunity has emerged.

We have been offered first rights to purchase a historic property in the very community Ken loved — a space that could become a permanent home for this work.

We are honored to share that the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation has received its first major annual grant of $5,000 from the Mariner Foundation.
