Gallery Dedication: Dueling Banjos, Tiny KMG Exhibition
On April 24, 2026, we dedicated Dueling Banjos Art Gallery to Kenneth M. Grebe, whose creative spirit continues to shape the space and the community it serves.
The inaugural exhibition featured twelve paintings created during the 2025 season of Dueling Banjos, the live painting series founded by Ken Grebe and Cloe Wind. Painted outdoors in real time as musicians performed nearby, the works capture not only individual artistic voices but also the shared experience of creating together. Eight artists participated in the series, with six joining us for the dedication.
Among the twelve works was Ken's unfinished floral painting—the final piece he created during Dueling Banjos. It remains in the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation's permanent collection.
To mark the gallery's opening, eleven of the exhibited works were offered for purchase, with proceeds supporting both the participating artists and the Foundation's mission to foster creative community. The exhibition represented the first time these paintings had been reunited since they were created months earlier.
Alongside the dedication, POPROX Mini Mercantile unveiled the Tiniest Art Gallery with an intimate exhibition of Ken's smallest works. From Post-it notes and matchbooks to hand-painted tags, the display celebrated his remarkable ability to find meaning and delight in even the smallest surfaces. Visitors explored the collection through a magnifying glass, discovering details that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.
The evening marked one of the Foundation's first public acts of stewardship: preserving Ken's work, supporting living artists, and creating a place where creativity continues to gather people together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared stories, spent time with the artwork, and helped begin this next chapter.
Cloe Wind welcomes attendees and officially opens Dueling Banjos Art Gallery for the public.
