Art to Art: Creative Well, Running On Empty

Running on Empty

Burnout, Rest, and Creative Recovery

As the year begins to wind down, many artists find themselves facing a familiar tension.

There is work to finish. Work to sell. Work to share. Work to make for others. Deadlines, markets, exhibitions, commissions, holiday obligations, and the pressure to end the year "well."

At the same time, many of us are carrying creative fatigue, uncertainty, and the need for rest.

For October's Art to Art gathering, we'll explore burnout, recovery, boundaries, self-compassion, and the realities of sustaining a creative practice through demanding seasons.

How do we recognize when we're running on empty?

How do we rest without guilt?

How do we care for ourselves while continuing to care for the work?

The evening will include guided discussion, anonymous audience questions, community conversation, and a brief creative wellness component.

As Ken often reminded those around him:

Be kind to yourself. Love yourself.

Presented by the Kenneth M. Grebe Foundation.
